Elevating the Craft of Writing through Revision and Conferring for K-3 Authors

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Learn strategies to launch your writing workshop with organization and creativity. Gain useful management tips and sound pedagogical practices to lift the craft of your young writer's stories. Students will become inspired to write longer, with enthusiasm and confidence. You will be amazed at how your writers will grow throughout the unit. As a teacher, you will enjoy teaching each lesson as you look closely at the mentor texts you've loved for years and see your students apply quality craft to their own writing.

A great way to engage students is with collaborative projects that align to Common Core standards. Understanding the need to bring students to a higher level and encourage critical thinking while still maintaining a stress-free, fun environment, Klein offers strategies to achieve this workshop model in a K-3 setting. As a member of The National Writing Project, Klein emphasizes the importance of writing as a process and stresses the importance of collaboration.
